How To: Metallic Liquid Lipstick
Social media has a way of getting us to try beauty trends that we never would’ve thought of unless we saw our favorite beauty guru rocking it first. We’ve all seen metallic nail polish and eyeshadows, but what about metallic lips?! They say trends have a way of repeating themselves and metallic lips are definitely making a comeback! In honor of our recent metallic liquid lipstick launch, we wanted to create a step by step guide so you can rock your metallic lip with confidence!
- Prep Your Lips: This is a crucial step before applying any lip product. Prepping your lips consists of gentle exfoliation, to remove any dead skin cells and then using a lip primer which will create a smooth surface for the product to be applied.
- Line Your Lips: Not a pro at applying liquid lipstick? Don’t worry, most of us aren’t! To ensure clean application, line your lips with a lip liner that matches your metallic liquid lipstick. Once your lips are lined, you can easily apply your liquid lipstick without worrying about the product going beyond your natural lip shape.
- Apply Metallic Liquid Lipstick: To achieve flawless application, start off by applying a small amount of product and then building the color. If you apply too much at once, it can become messy and you’ll have to remove excess product. Most liquid lipsticks come with an angled applicator to allow for easy application so make sure the flat side is the side that you’re using to apply the product.
- Use Concealer to Clean Messy Edges: If you have any liquid lipstick on the corners of your lips after application, use your favorite concealer and an angled brush to clean away any product you don’t want. Applying concealer around your lips will define their natural shape.
